About

Who is Turn To Stone?

Turn To Stone, America's authentic '70s Electric Light Orchestra tribute band, was created to preserve the legacy and music of the band for all generations of fans. Turn To Stone strives to capture the essence of a live retro performance, with the high quality production and orchestration standards of the modern day. Turn To Stone tours with the same instrumentation as 1970’s ELO; consisting of a guitarist, keyboardist, bassist, drummer, violinist, and two cellists. A coordinated light show, authentic costumes, and a live string section help deliver an unforgettable performance that brings the early years of ELO back to life.

Electric Light Orchestra was formed in 1970 in Birmingham, England, to create modern rock songs with classical overtones. After a founding member departed the group in 1972, Jeff Lynne became the sole leader of the band; producing and arranging all of their music. Him, along with keyboardist Richard Tandy, bass player Kelly Groucutt, and drummer Bev Bevan would go on to create the magic that ELO is recognized for around the world.

The members of Turn To Stone are proud to perform the music of ELO to all generations of fans across America. The group consists of four professional musicians who have been playing music their whole lives. The string section for Turn To Stone is furnished by local Dayton company, Viva La Strings.

Adam Clark

Role: Guitar / Lead Vocals

Favorite ELO Song: Shine A Little Love

Adam has been playing guitar since his high school days, but has been involved in choirs and bands his entire life. Born in New Carlisle, Ohio, he graduated from Wright State University with a degree in Motion Pictures Productions, and works all over Ohio on films, shows, and commercials. His brother Coleman also plays in the band, and Adam has been friends with Chase since middle school. Adam’s favorite part of performing is locking in ELO's difficult harmonies!

Coleman Clark

Role: Keyboards / Lead Vocals

Favorite ELO Song: Strange Magic

Coleman was born in New Carlisle, Ohio and has been playing piano his entire life. He graduated from Wright State University with degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education, and now teaches both voice and piano professionally for a living; allowing him the flexibility to not only teach music, but to perform with the band as well. Coleman enjoys performing at a professional level with his brother and lifelong friends. His favorite part about performing is meeting fans!

Chase Heck

Role: Bass / Vocals

Favorite ELO Song: Sweet Talkin' Woman

Chase has been playing bass guitar ever since his father, Bill, instilled a love for oldies music at a young age.  He graduated from Wright State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, but fulfills his musical passion with time dedicated to the band. Chase loves to perform and lead the direction of the band with his father and best friends. Chase's favorite part of performing is working behind the scenes on all the programs needed to recreate his favorite music!

Bill Heck

Role: Drums / Vocals

Favorite ELO Song: Telephone Line

Bill has been involved with music ever since he first performed with his Mom and family band at local nursing homes in his birthplace of Lake City, Michigan during the 1970’s. He served our nation as a member of the United States Air Force for 20 years, but has always led a music filled life. He loves performing with Turn To Stone not only because of the amazing music, but because he gets to perform with his son Chase.
